Dear
Request for Information – ATISN 16252
Thank you for your email of 11 April 2022 under the Freedom of Information Act about City and Guilds advising Educ8 about your application to enrol on a Level 4 Independent Advocacy Qualification.
Information requested:
You asked:
I would like to know who/what department at City & Guilds advised Educ8 originally that I was able to enrol onto the Level 4 Independent Advocacy Qualification and who/what department subsequently advised that I was no longer able to continue with the qualification and the reasons this decision was made by City & Guilds. I would also like to have confirmation when the decision by City & Guilds was determined and articulated to Educ8, as I am told, this may have been in October 2021, but the message reached me in February 2022.
Our response:
Requests for access to personal data are covered under the Data Protection Act 2018. Therefore, any personal data concerning your application to enrol on a Level 4 Independent Advocacy Qualification would be held by Educ8 and City and Guilds as the relevant bodies involved in consideration of your application, and not the Welsh Government.
For this reason, I would advise you to request this information from either City and Guilds and/or Educ8.
With regard the decision made regarding your qualification, and the date at which this was determined, this information is not held by Welsh Government therefore, I would advise that you make this request to City and Guilds.
In terms of your complaint about the Minister for Education and Welsh Language and his office, I understand a response was sent to you on 5 May.
