Attendees were welcomed to the meetings.
2. Minutes
The minutes of the meeting of 19 August were agreed.
3. Update on out of court parenting support
Members were provided with an update on the approach to delivering tailored parenting support in cases where the police decide it is appropriate to offer an out-of-court disposal. The tailored parenting support will be designed to encourage and support parents in adopting positive parenting techniques while making it absolutely clear to everyone that the physical punishment of children is unacceptable in all circumstances.
4. Practice Guide
Members considered the draft Practice Guide which will provide practitioners with additional information about the Children Wales Act in conjunction with the Wales Safeguarding Procedures (WSPs). The draft was finalised at the 18 October meeting prior to submission to the Strategic Implementation Group for their consideration before sharing with the Wales Safeguarding Procedures Project Board.
