Request for Information – Warnings and enforcement notices issued to water companies by the Welsh Government

Thank you for your request of 8 April 2022.

You have asked for the following:

1. Information on how many warnings the Welsh Government has issued to water companies over the past five years, including the date the warning was issued and the water company it was sent to. You have requested copies of any such warning letter issued.

2. Information on any enforcement notices issued by the Welsh Government to water companies in the last five years.

Our response

I have understood your request for information on warnings and enforcement notices issued to water companies to pertain to environmental pollution. Responsibility for environmental regulation is the responsibility of Natural Resources Wales (NRW).

As such, I am writing to inform you that the information you have requested is not held by the Welsh Government. However, I believe that NRW holds information which you are seeking. You can ask them for the information at accesstoinformationteam@naturalresourceswales.gov.uk, or I can transfer your request to them. Please inform me in writing if you would like me to transfer the request.
