Thank you for your request which I received on 2 February 2022.  You asked for:

The following information on Rent Smart Wales:

  • The cost of setting-up Rent Smart Wales;
  • The annual running costs of Rent Smart Wales;
  • The number of staff members employed by Rent Smart Wales;
  • The salary of the three highest-paid employees of Rent Smart Wales.

Our response

Between 2014/15 and 2015/16, the Welsh Government provided £495,000 to Cardiff Council / Rent Smart Wales to set-up the scheme. The funding covered staff resources, infrastructure set-up costs, ongoing implementation costs and the marketing of the scheme.

The rest of the information you have requested is not held by the Welsh Government.  However, I understand that Rent Smart Wales holds the information which you are seeking (though I note that you have also sent the request directly to them).
